New Year's Eve/Day used to be something really important to me.
Until Jordan came along.
She didn't understand why it was so important for me to see her on New Year's. She didn't understand the romance I saw in it. Sharing the count down with that special someone and being able to kiss them the minute the ball dropped. Holding them and basically being there at the end and beginning of a new year, of a new decade.
She basically killed that view of New Year's for me and I now view it the same way: as just another day. Changing from one month to the next. Nothing special, nothing important. No big deal.
So for this year I'm perfectly fine with just being at home by myself not doing anything and going to bed at 10.
